Charles L. Richards Obituary

Charles L. “Rich” Richards, 84, of La Junta passed away on August 6, 2020 at the Bent County Health Care Center in Las Animas where he had been residing for the past three years. He was born on November 25, 1935 in Holbrook, Arizona to Leonard H. & Phyllis (Mosley) Richards. Rich received his Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering from the University of Arizona and his Master’s Degree from Texas Christian University. He retired from the Army in 1980, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam where he received a purple heart. He enjoyed restoring classic vehicles, target shooting, dancing and playing bridge. He is survived by his wife, Ann of the La Junta home; and their dog, Missy. He was preceded in death by his parents. As per Rich’s request cremation has taken place and his cremains will be interred at Ft. Lyon National Cemetery.
