Patsy Harvey Obituary

Mrs. Patsy Sue Walker Harvey of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at the age of 66. She was surrounded by her loving family, as she had been throughout her two and a half year battle with cancer. She was born June 18, 1954, at the Mounds Community, Arkansas, the 4th child and first daughter of Wade Walker and Betty Sue McMurtry Walker. Patsy was raised around the Mounds Marmaduke area, and worked at various businesses in the area. It was there that she developed a passion for horses, and honed her skills as an equestrian. After moving to Swifton, Patsy worked at Medallion until her retirement several years ago. She married Tommy Lee Harvey in October 16, 2004, together they enjoyed 15 years, combining their families into one big family. Patsy was full of life and love. As her children and grandchildren came along, she showered them all with love. There’s nothing she loved more than family get togethers, always wanting to do all of the cooking herself. Patsy loved having her family close. Her grandchildren will forever remember her telling them that she loved them “the bestest and the mostest.” Patsy was passionate about her family and would give up everything for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Patsy took care of everyone before worrying about herself. She could always be counted on when she was needed, there was nothing she would not do for her family and friends. Patsy was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, and sharing her recipes through the mail with her children and grandchildren. She had a kind spirit and a loving heart. Patsy had an infectious smile, and was always happy, especially when she was with her family. She was baptized by Brother Kim Bridges of Marmaduke First Baptist Church, and after moving to Swifton, attended the Swifton Church of Christ and frequently enjoyed visiting the Marmaduke Church. Patsy leaves behind a legacy of love and sacrifice. She will forever be remembered for her big smile and spirit full of life and love. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Billy Wayne Walker; and one sister, Barbara Sue Walker. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Tommy Lee Harvey of Swifton; one son, Robert Edward Phillips of Paragould; one daughter, Angelia Denise Franklin and husband, Robert, of Marmaduke; one step-son, Robert Lee Harvey of Clarkesville, Tennessee; one step-daughter, Alisa Joann Hackett and husband, Rick, of Indialantic, Florida; six brothers, Larry Walker of Lafe, Arkansas, Dandon Walker of Paragould, Allen Walker of Marmaduke, Clinton Walker of Piggott, Terry Walker of Marmaduke, and Jim Walker of Lafe, Arkansas; three sisters, Joella Carter of Marmaduke, Paula Rogers of Paragould, and Nancy Stormes of Paragould; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of friends who loved her and will never forget her. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Patsy’s brothers, Larry Walker, Dandon Walker, Allen Walker, Clinton Walker, Terry Walker, and Jim Walker. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Sunday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Swifton Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 masks and social distancing are required.
