Ocala, FL/Brewer- Merton K. Brown, 85, of Ocala, FL and Brewer was called home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2020. Born in Prospect on August 18, 1934, he was the son of Claude M. and Marion L. (Chapman) Brown. Merton worked and retired from the International Paper, Co. of Bucksport. Merton was a member of the Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church of Ocala, FL, and the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Bangor. He is survived by his loving wife, Clara D. Jones-Brown; son, Keith R. Brown of Bangor; grandsons Taylor Perkins of Charlton, MA and Jason Brown of Brewer; granddaughter, Astra Perkins and son-in-law, Mike Perkins, both of Charlton, MA; one sister, Muriel Peacock of Bucksport; and brother-in-law, Victor Romer of Pensacola, FL. Merton is also survived by his step-children, Donna (Thomas) Phillips and Thomas Jones, as well as step-grandchildren, Derek and Cassie Johnson and Brandon Jones; and step-great grandchildren, Nathan and Gavin Johnson, all of Ocala, FL. Besides his parents, Merton was predeceased by three children, Infant son, Leslie Brown, Terry J. Brown (19), and Vanessa Brown (53). A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday August 8, 2020 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Prospect. A memorial service was held on August 1, 2020 in Ocala, FL.
