Bonnie L. Maynard

Bonnie L. Maynard, 75, of Rome passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at The Grand Rehabilitation Center of Rome. Born in Rome on January 5, 1945, she was the daughter of Donald and Bessie (Clemons) Weeks. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. On May 11, 1968, she was united in marriage to Judson Maynard. Bonnie was a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters, and volunteered extensively at the schools they attended. She served on the Drums Along the Mohawk committee for more than 25 years and could be found slicing pies at the Rome Rescue Mission on every holiday. Bonnie loved the Adirondacks and was always on the lookout for the elusive moose. She enjoyed many arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking and card making. Bonnie also found great joy in the role of Assistant Homeschool Teacher to her homeschooled grandchildren. Surviving besides her loving husband, Judd, are two daughters Amy (Matthew) Miller and Marcia (Walter) Basher; a brother Donald "Sonny" Weeks; four precious grandchildren Isabella and Hannah Miller, and Sean and Ethan Basher; and several niece and nephews. The family would like to thank the 3rd wing staff at The Grand for their care and compassion. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
