Fred J. Somers Jr., age 86 of Romeoville, IL., passed away Saturday August 1, 2020. Beloved husband of the late Theresa Somers; loving father of Mark (Kellie) Somers, Michael Somers, Janet (Rob) Gardner, Karen Somers, Robert (Jody) Somers and Daniel Somers; devoted grandfather of Derek, Heather (George Tsigolis), Kerri (Jon), Joseph, Nico (Steffanie), David, Brittany, Paige and Jordyn and great-grandfather of Mia, Jackson, Madelyn and Lily; fond brother of the late Donald (Barbara) Somers and the late William (Rose) Somers; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Somers was a Korean War United States Marine Corps veteran. Visitation Friday August 7, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Home 21131 W. Renwick Rd. Plainfield, IL. 60544., Chapel service will be held Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Service concludes at the funeral home. Cremation rites to be accorded. Private inurnment with military honors will held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. at a later date.
