During his high school years he lettered in baseball, and football. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1969-1973 as a part of the “Brown Water Navy,” and was a Boatswain’s Mate on the Aircraft Carrier USS Forrestal. He retired as a millwright with a Local Millwright Union, after which, he was a man who wore many hats. Michael was a proud member of the Tetonia and Milam Masonic lodges; as well as member of the Scottish Rite in Galveston, Texas. Michael felt that the highest praise for his service came in the form of beaming smiles from the children that visited the parades he attended as a part of the Shriners Karts. Michael also owned MB Kelley Steel Fabrication for a number of years. He and his wife Brenda were members of Trinity Baptist Church. They loved spending time together and traveling the world with his sweet puppies, Missy Lou and Booger. Michael was a kind, patient and had a giving soul.
