Donald Mart Comer Obituary

Donald Mart Comer, 81, of Levelland passed from this life on August 1, 2020.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Anthony officiating.  Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

He was born July 17, 1939 to George Comer and Evie Belle Hollingsworth in Sonewall, Texas.

Mart is survived by his wife of 39 years, Connie, whom he lovingly called “Mama”; children, Mallisa Redden and her fiancé Donny Williams, Donna Comer and her partner Alex Rodriguez, Dr. George Garza and wife Claudia, and Brandon Comer; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; lots of nieces and nephews; and their dogs, Bailey and Mylie.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Comer; mother, Evie Belle CosStephens; brothers, Leroy Comer, Ray Comer and Floyd Comer; and sisters, Sue Wallace, Pat Bishop and Maurine Comer.

Mart served in the United States Army as a Lieutenant, A Med, Field Artillery Officer and a Crewman in Korea.  He was also given awards for Sharpshooting with a rifle.  While in the Army, Mart was given a dog named Prince whom he loved very much.  Prince stood guard with him all through his tour of Korea.

He loved drinking coffee with his buddies and would look forward to that every evening.  Mart also enjoyed spending time with his wife at home watching movies and playing Yahoo.

(My Aunt Connie is happy that she was there for him all the time until the day he died.  They made a lot of good memories together in the past 39 years.  He was a great man and husband.  She will forever love him.)

Pallbearers will be Bobby Gomez, Nathan Gomez, Jared Mott, Alex Anthony, Izac Anthony, Zachary Anthony, RJ Ochoa and Noah Ochoa.  Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Gomez.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Krestridge Funeral Home. (806) 897-1111
