Lawrence "Lonnie" Butler, Sr., 49, a resident of Patterson, LA and native of Verdunville, LA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 29, 2020 at 7:42 PM at Ochsner St. Mary in Morgan City, LA. 

A drive through viewing (REMAINING IN THE CAR WITH NO STOPPING) will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A graveside services will be held on Saturday August 8, 2020 at 2:00 P. M. in the Nazarene Baptist Church Cemetery in Verdunville, LA. Reverend Henry Harris will officate the services. (All well wishers are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing).

Memories of Lawrence or Lonnie, as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his wife, Nicole N. Butler of Patterson, LA; Brittani Segura of New Iberia, LA and Lawrence H. Jr. of Elizabethtown, KY; one sister, Alicia Butler; one niece, Khadijah Butler both of Patterson, LA;  five step-children, Najanee (Antonio) Lewis-Davis of Charenton, LA, Latonia Lewis and Dequincy Lewis both of Abbeville, LA, Tony Lewis of Baton Rouge, LA, and Rena Lewis of Cocoa Beach, FL; his father, Hilliard Butler of Verdunviile, LA; his father & mother-in-law, Pastor Rena & Leroy Lewis of St. Martinville, LA; seven grandchildren, Ari Anna Segura, Kaiden Segura, Jayceon Darby, Sage Lewis, Naimah Osekre, Antonia Davis Jr. and Alex Davis; one god child, Eden Nico and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. 

Lawrence was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Mae Notto Butler; his maternal grandparents, Leana Jones and Lawrence Notto and his paternal grandparents, Henry Butler, Sr. and Cecile Butler.
