Shirley Ann Hagedorn Williford Obituary

Shirley Ann (Shaffer) Hagedorn Williford of Reedsville, passed away after 83 happy years of life. She was born May 16, 1937 a daughter of the late Gay Wilbur and Bertha (Likens) Shaffer. She grew up in Reedsville, attended Reedsville Elementary School for eight years, followed by four years at Masontown High School. After graduating, she was employed by the Farmers and Merchants’ Bank, in Morgantown for twelve years. She then became a Tax Deputy for the Sheriff of Monongalia County and transferred to the Monongalia County Health Department for her final employment.

Shirley is survived by her son, Michael Lewis Hagedorn, his wife Tracy; her grandchildren: Courtney Piper and husband Carl Michael, Cole, and Catarina; two grandsons; Jaxson and Alex. She is also survived by one sister: Donna Gay Rhodes, her husband Dwight; and nephews and niece: Shelby, Shannon, and Dustin.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband and best friend for 37 years, Drury F. Williford, Jr.

The family would like to thank Morgantown Hospice and specifically Tammy, Kathy, and Molly for the loving kindness and wonderful care that Shirley received during her final weeks.
