Richard Darrell Atkins

Richard “Rick” Darrell Atkins passed away at his home on July 26, 2020. He was 57 years old. He was born August 27, 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a graduate of Parma High School in 1983. Rick served in the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Hawaii and Australia. He was self-employed as a roofer for many years. He also went to school and became certified in HVAC. He had a passion for all animals, even helping hurt birds in his yard. He loved spending time with his first love...his dogs (lol)..and he also loved spending time with his fiancee' Betty Anderson. Richard is survived by his fiancée, Betty Anderson of Warren; his sister, Deborah J. (Paul) Thompson of Freedom; his Aunt Elaine Baart of Rochester NY and his brother- in- law, William Varney of North Olmsted. Also Betty's children, Holly (Vince) Rucci of Stow, Carrie Anderson and her children, Ellie and Rylee of West Farmington, Billiejo (Kyle) of North Carolina, Brian Anderson of Warren, Samantha Anderson of West Farmington and many more nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by nephew, Darrell Ray; his mother, Carol J Atkins; his brother, Charles K. Atkins; his sisters, Susan L. Toth and Kathleen M. Varney; and Sarah J. Anderson. At his request, cremation has already taken place.
