Kenneth “Ken” Hatch, 82, died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Arbors Nursing Home in Rusk, TX. Born April 10, 1938, he graduated from port Neches High School and attended Lamar University in 1960. He graduated with a degree in Education. His first teaching job was in Buna, TX where he taught sixth grade. He later attended Sam Houston University obtaining a Masters degree and taught many years in the field of education. An accomplished pianist, he played for several evangelist and southern gospel quartets. At only 14 years old, he toured with Manley Beasley for many revivals in the southern states. He later was awarded an honorary doctorate in gospel piano. Ken loved the Lord and was devoted to the ministry of music that the Lord had given him. He is survived by his brother, Randy Hatch and Sue; nephews, Andrew Hatch and wife Sara, Tim Hatch and wife Leslie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Gladys Hatch. A private graveside service will be under the direction of Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Freedom In Christ bible fund at First Baptist Church in Rusk, TX.
