Carla Reneé Shock, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 20, 2020, at home with her family by her side. She was born December 14, 1930, in Vienna, Austria to Salomon & Bertha Klein.
Carla came to America in 1948, and settled in Chicago with her Mother. After meeting the love of her life, Frank & Carla were married in September, 1949. They were active members of Alsip Reformed Church and eventually became parents to 7 children.
In 1981, Carla became an antique dealer, eventually owning Village Antiques in Palos Park. She was known as an honest, passionate small business owner and made many lifelong friends. She “retired” when she 80 years old.
Carla is survived by Nola (Chris) Noto, Chelsea (Pam) Shock, Pearl (Jack) Pierik, and Bertha (Chad) White ; her grandchildren, Kristen (Daniel) McDonald, Nikki (Richard) Benitez, Sarah (Jerod) Clark, Dan Czwornog, Amy Roman, Frank (Adina) Shock, John (Kourtney) Pierik, John (Katie) Noto, Austen Shock, Alexandra (Ty) Acosta, Justin Shock and Colton Shock; her great-grandchildren, Michael, Daniel & Elliana Shock; Ava Roman; Mason & Matthew Czwornog; Jack & Liam Pierik; Winifred Noto; and Mila Benitez.
Carla was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank; her 3 children, Dr. Frank Shock, Mary Ann Shock and John Shock; grand-daughter Christine Shock; and her sister Else Klein and brother and sister-in-law Benno and Elizabeth Klein.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens South, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL for family and friends. Everyone is to meet in the parking lot of Chapel Hill Gardens South at 1:45 p.m.
