Virginia Marie Hix

Virginia Marie Hix passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017, in Hereford, Texas. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Hereford. Rev. Billy Joe Wall, Pastor of Avenue Baptist Church will officiate. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th. Virginia was born February 18th 1941, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, to Robert Clarence and Mamie Victoria (Trotter) Clements. She married Jerry Lynn Hix on April 8, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married for 25 years, and live in Hereford. Virginia was a voracious reader. She always had a book going. She also knitted and sewed. I, James Allan, still remember the pajamas with the rocket print she made for me when I was a small child. I loved them. Most of all, we all loved her. One of the last things she said to James Allan, was she was not afraid of dying. She was ready for the pain to end, but that she would miss her family to much to leave. Family was everything to her as it should be. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mamie (Trotter) Clements; 1 sister, Shirley Jean Clements; and, 1 brother, Robert Allan Clements. Virginia is survived by her husband Jerry Lynn Hix of the home; three children, Donna and James Tice of Amarillo, Texas, Vicki and Mike Malone of Lone Oak, Texas, Allan and Lori Mongold of Canyon, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Trey and Jacy Malone of Amarillo, Texas, Hayden Malone and Tiffani Tanner of Lone Oak, Texas, Josh and Fayrene Tice of Amarillo, Texas, Jennifer and Jeff Weidrich of Amarillo, Texas, Misty and Samuel Berryman of Bushland, Texas, Taylor Tice and his fiancé Stephanie Detten-Chumley of Amarillo, Texas, Zachary Mongold of Canyon, Texas, Christopher Mongold of Canyon, Texas; and 12 great grandchildren.
