Lydia M Garibaldi Obituary

Lydia Garibaldi, 91, of Tinton Falls, NJ, passed from this life on Saturday, July 18, 2020, just one week shy of her 92nd birthday. Born in 1928, Lydia was raised in New York City where she attended secretarial school. Upon graduating, she worked for a prominent fashion buyer where she developed a lifetime love for shoes, clothes and style.

Lydia and her beloved husband John were married in New York City in 1950. After raising their three children together, Lydia worked in the guidance office of the Colts Neck school system until her retirement. Even years after her retirement, Lydia would be out running errands in town and former students would stop her, hug her, and share a memory from their time together at the school.

Lydia firmly believed that family is everything, and she was happiest when seated at her dining table, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (most of whom called her “Nana”). She loved her friends, good food, big band music, and a good Marshalls deal. But those who knew her best, knew her for her feisty sense of humor, fantastic Italian cooking, and her warm spirit that will be missed every day. But she is finally at home and at peace with her husband and her Heavenly Father.

Lydia is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John Garibaldi. Lydia is survived by her three children, Linda Kreuzwieser and her husband Gary (Nazareth, PA), John Garibaldi and his wife Debbie (Folly Beach, SC), and Larry Garibaldi (Tinton Falls, NJ). She is survived by five grandchildren: Kristen Kreuzwieser, Lauren Fitzgerald and her husband Tony, Samantha Garibaldi, Hannah Garibaldi and Karly Garibaldi. Lydia is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Jacob, Emily, Lydia and Trey.

The family is thankful for the care the staff of The Chelsea at Tinton Falls has provided over the past year.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Weds., July 22nd at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad St, Eatontown, NJ.
