Colin A.R. MacKERACHER

<p style="text-align: justify;">Colin MacKeracher passed away on July 13, 2020. &nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Colin was born September 8, 1930 in Plato to Colin and Lillian MacKeracher and was the youngest of six children.&nbsp; He grew up on the family farm near Plato and attended school at Kildare and Eston.&nbsp;After finishing school, he worked in a fish packing plant in Prince Rupert, as an undertaker in North Battleford, an assistant manager in Woolworth&#39;s and in the planning department for the City of Edmonton.&nbsp; In 1955, Colin married his high school sweetheart, Rowena Dixon of Lacadena. They had five children: Doug (1956), Heather (1957), Susan (1958), Scott (1961) and Glenn (1964). In 1960, Colin and Rowena moved from Edmonton back to the family farms around Lacadena where he continued to farm until Scott took over in 1982. In 1970, they opened MacKerachers&rsquo; House of Electronics in Eston and then sold the store in 1975. Colin drove ambulance and was a member of the School Board in Eston. He was a long-standing member of the Masons and Shriners.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Colin is lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Rowena. His sister: Joyce Church of Saskatoon, SK. His children:&nbsp;Doug (Sylvia Len) MacKeracher of Langley BC,&nbsp;Heather (Len) Shankowsky of Edmonton AB,&nbsp;Susan (Brian) Seitinger of Edmonton AB,&nbsp;Scott (Debbie) MacKeracher of Eston SK and&nbsp;Glenn (Denise) MacKeracher of Calgary AB. His Grandchildren:&nbsp;Michael (Christine) Shankowsky of Edmonton AB,&nbsp;Laura (Mike) Fiume of Toronto ON,&nbsp;Tor (Shandra) Seitinger of Edmonton AB,&nbsp;Gunnar Seitinger of Edmonton AB,&nbsp;Devan (Lindsay) MacKeracher of Calgary AB,&nbsp;Justin MacKeracher of Regina SK,&nbsp;Amanda (Cody) Hansen of Rock Glen SK,&nbsp;Matthew (Lauren) MacKeracher of Eston SK,&nbsp;Adam (Madison) MacKeracher of North Battleford SK,&nbsp;Patricia (Ryan) Simon of Fort McMurray AB,&nbsp;Kaitlyn (Alex Mortlock) MacKeracher of Pemberton BC and Robert MacKeracher of Calgary. His great-grandchildren:&nbsp;Alice Shankowsky,&nbsp;Leo Shankowsky,&nbsp;Maxwell Fiume,&nbsp;Arya MacKeracher,&nbsp;Callie MacKeracher and&nbsp;Rhett Hansen.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Colin was predeceased by his parents: Colin Sr (1958) and Lillian (1976) and his brothers: Willard (2001), Norman (2012), Donald (1945) and&nbsp;Robert (2017).</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">A private family funeral will be held with interment at a later date.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">For those wishing to do so, memorial donations may be directed to the Masonic Scholarship Fund, Grand Lodge of SK, 1930 Lorne Street, Regina SK, S4P 2M1.</p>
