Sylvia I Williams New Albany, Indiana Obituary

Sylvia I Williams

Sylvia Williams of New Albany, Indiana passed away on July 16th, 2020. Sylvia was born to the late James Proctor and Dorothy Bethune Proctor on September 27th, 1964. She was a Christian by faith and had a close relationship with God. Sylvia was larger than life and always was a good time. Family came first and she devoted her life to being the best mother and grandmother you could ever imagine. She loved everyone whether they were kin to her or not, and you didn’t even have to know her to call her mom. Sylvia was like a mother to any and all who needed it. Her house was always open, with a seat at the dinner table if you wanted it. She would accept everyone with welcoming open arms if they weren’t already holding a baby. Her house was always full of kids. She could strike up conversations with anyone and often did. Sylvia was a person who would go out of there way to help others in need. If you were on the side of the road, you could bet she would stop and help. If you were walking home in the rain, she would give you a ride. She lived life to the max, and enjoyed being the “Cool Grandma”. Sylvia was preceded in death by; her father, James Proctor; her mother, Dorothy Bethune Proctor; Her husband, Tom Williams; and two brothers, Bruce Proctor, and James Proctor. Left to cherish her memory; her sons, Christopher Cupp, Thomas Williams, and Michael Williams; her daughters, Mildred Cupp, and Jeanette Williams; her brothers, Steven Proctor, Robert Winebrenner, Brian Winebrenner, and Michael Winebrenner; her sisters, Lisa Cruz, Deborah Argueta, Charlene Rosas, Dottie Breeding, Crystal Proctor, and Jessica Winebrenner; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Cupp, Chasity Cupp, Adrienne Cupp, Natalia Cupp, Mercedes Cupp, Elisha Cupp, Valerie Cupp, Christopher Allen Cupp, Christopher Cupp, and Swayze Mayfield; her only great grandchild, Mariana Cupp; and her 5 dogs that were like her babies, Chiquita, Lexi, Little Man, Nova, and Blackie. Spring Valley Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Williams Family.
