- Pansy Smith Hawkins, 90, of Covenant Village, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at her residence. She was a native of York County, SC, and was the daughter of the late James Duff Smith and Maggie Dowdle Smith. FUNERAL: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2007, Founders Chapel, McLean Funeral Directors - Gastonia. INTERMENT: Gaston Memorial Park VISITATION: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday, June 26, 2007, Covenant Village, and Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Pansy was a member of Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church and the Lorraine Chapter of Eastern Star, Gastonia. SURVIVORS: Six nieces, eight nephews and many extended family. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Parents, husband, Howard Hawkins, son, Glenn Austin Hawkins, daughter, Sylvia Ann Hawkins, five brothers and four sisters. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev.
