Margaret 'Peg' M. Shirk (Mohl) Obituary

Margaret M. “Peg” Shirk, 84, of Cridersville, OH, formerly of Indian Lake, passed away Sunday morning, January 29, 2017, at her home. She was born on November 26, 1932 in Cadillac, MI to the late Don and Eugenia “Jean” Bronson Reed Mohl. On May 16, 1966, she married William E. Shirk in New Carlisle, OH and he survives. She is also survived by two children, Kelly (Michael) Misich of Delaware, OH and Dr. Andrew (Devry) Shirk of Lima, OH, four step-children, Jane Ragozine of Akron, OH, William F. (Mary Beth) Shirk of Powell, OH, David (Katrina) Shirk of Cincinnati, OH and Adam (Robi) Shirk of Columbus, OH, five grandchildren, Jon and Sophia Misich and Avery, Mitchell and Halley Shirk, and a brother, Charles G. Mohl of Gulf Shores, AL. Peg was a 1950 graduate of Cadillac High School where she was a member of the high school marching band and a 1954 graduate of Albian College where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was a teacher at several schools in Allen, Auglaize and Logan Counties. Peg was a member of Indian Lake Community Church, formerly served as an Indian Lake EMT Squad member, served on the Logan County Cancer Society Board and was a Mary Rutan Hospital Guild volunteer. Peg enjoyed boating and sailing on Indian Lake, golfing, knitting, vacationing in Florida and Gulf Shores, and going to the YMCA. But most importantly she loved spending time with her family and friends. Reverend Jim Ellington will begin a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, OH with visitation two hours prior to services. Memorial contributions may be given in Mrs. Shirk’s name to the Logan County Cancer Society or a Humane Society of the donor’s choice.
