Billie Fae Finch

Billie Fae Finch, 92, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, at First Presbyterian Church in Grimes where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes. Billie was born November 18, 1924, in Royce City, TX, to Lawrence and Mary (Aday) Graham. She married Dr. Robert Finch on July 14, 1945, in Fort Worth, TX. Billie worked with her husband in his veterinarian practice in Grimes for 28 years. She spent the next twelve years in Carroll working as a special education assistant and in 1986 she fully retired. They returned to Grimes where Billie was active in the First Presbyterian Church and Grimes American Legion. She also enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, baking pies and teaching her granddaughters how to cook. Billie is survived by her children, Cheryl (Mike) Wessels of Granger and Ted Finch of Waukee; three grandchildren, Charlyn (Jeff) Mason, Nevada, IA, Renae (Dan) Tool, Reasnor, IA, and Amy (Brian) Evans, Granger, IA; nine great-grandchildren, Will (Hanna) Lytle, Emily Lytle, Adam Lytle, Jacob Tool, Dani Sue Tool, Colby Tool, Julia Evans, Brianna Evans, and Alex Evans; one great-great-grandchild, Lanie Lytle and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and twelve siblings. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Grimes or Grimes American Legion Post #0577.
