Joseph P. Morey

Joseph P. Morey, age 45, of Johnstown, died unexpectedly on Monday morning, July 13, 2020 at his home. He was born May 20, 1975 in Gloversville, the son of the late Alfred and Georgianna Fredericks Morey. At the time of his sudden death, Joe was employed as manager of the Gloversville NAPA store for many years. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cowboys and Yankees and Joe's house of bombs with family and friends. Joe is survived by his companion of 22 years, Shelley Shanahan, of Johnstown, as well as his extended family of children he loved as his own, Abbey Lyons, Shelbey Lynne (Ben), Aaron Lyons (Heather), and predeceased Amber Lyons. Grandchildren he loved as his own, Alivia, Keegan, Landon, Colton, Kaiden and Chloe; and his precious pugs. Friends may visit from 10am to 12noon on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Face covering and social distancing will be required. A graveside service will take place at 12:30pm Thursday at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A.
