James Dennis Gross Obituary

James Dennis Gross was born October 8, 1938 in Clay County and departed this life January 29, 2017 at his residence in Erlanger, being 78 years of age. He was the son of the late Floyd (Pink) Gross and Duluth Pierson Gross. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Bridges) Gross of Erlanger and by two children, Terry Gross and his wife Shirley of Erlanger and Sondra McQueen and her husband Jim of Owsley County. He is also survived by the following siblings, Kenny Gross, Lola Lee Gross, Margerine Gross & Mildred Edwards of Sextons Creek, Alonzo Gross of Alexandria, KY, Judy Lynch of Norwood, OH, Diana Young of Union, Ineda Cole of Lebanon, OH and Leisa Parrett of Annville. James was blessed with two grandchildren, Dakota McQueen and his wife Taylor and Kelsey Gross and by one great grandson, Cason McQueen. In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by grandson, Cody James McQueen and by a brother, Charles Gross. James was a member of the Birch Lick Baptist Church and he was also a Mason. He was employed at Adkins & Pearce as a foreman. He retired on his 72nd birthday after 51 ½ years. Funeral service 1:00PM Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Hays officiating. Burial in the Gross Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry, Lonzo & Kenny Gross, Jim & Dakota McQueen and Larry Cole.
