Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Eucharist Church as gifts of remembrance. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, Aunt, and friend, Elizabeth Kokoski (Mucha) of Foam Lake, on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Wynyard Hospital. Elizabeth was born October 2, 1930 to Haracym and Catherine (Bryksa) Mucha at Horse Lake District. She was the 7th of 11 children and received her education at Horse Lake School. She grew up loving to play outdoors, particularly ball, and practicing her math skills in school. On November 2nd 1947 Elizabeth and Constantine (George) Kokoski were married at Beckenham Church. Elizabeth lived most of her life on the farm in Brombury in the Horse Lake area raising her family. In 2010 Mom decided to move to Foam Lake to a senior's apartment to try some small town living! Mom/Baba enjoyed life to the fullest by partaking in her many hobbies, interests, and travelling excursions. She was fortunate to travel across the province to the Waskesiu region to visit with her son, Kevin, and his family. Her various appointments in the city always turned into a great opportunity to visit with her son, Melvin, and his family along with making sure she had her Timmie's fix of steeped tea every few hours. For many years she was a snowbird who stayed within Canada where she travelled to B.C. to live with her daughter, Delores, and family. From there, she got to see the world as they travelled to Seattle, Reno, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. Elizabeth and her daughter, Kelly, shared a passion and amazing talent for cooking, baking, canning, crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening, and having a witty sense of humour. She was also a farm girl who shared a yard site with her son, Nestor, and family where they shared their love of animals (as long as they did not come near the house!) and nature. She had a special love for birds, particularly her bird, Tweedie. She would spend many hours in her garden or tending to her flowers, making sure everyone was well fed, and picking wild berries, wild flowers or hazelnuts on her many evening walks or bike rides down the countryside (this may have included the time she got stuck in the pasture while checking cows only having a tree branch to swat mosquitos away on her walk home for help). Baba was a woman of many talents who strived for perfection in everything she did. Her hands were never idle as she was very artistic by crocheting, knitting, sewing, or crafting all different items for her family. She will fondly be remembered for her competitive nature while playing board games and card games (particularly 3-Spot) with her friends and family. She looked forward to holiday celebrations where there was a full house, lots of laughs, and food galore. She had a special place in her heart for chips at Dennis' Café, cheezies, and Pepsi for a treat. A quality that she has passed on to her family is that you never let someone leave your home empty handed. This was usually in the form of something she had cooked or baked, including her perfect lemon meringue pies. In her later years, Baba enjoyed learning how to do new things on her iPad (including how to FaceTime in April!), Saturday night radio bingos, Coronation Street, late night news, sudoku, and listening to the radio. Baba will be sadly missed but will always be remembered for how she welcomed her kid's and grandkid's friends as her own; they even refer to her as "Baba"! She was our family's personal "Google" machine as her memory was sharp as a tack regarding history she knew of family, neighbours, and events that had happened in the Horse Lake district. Her loving nature created many good times and special memories that will live on with her family and be cherished forever. Elizabeth is predeceased by: her parents, Haracym and Catherine (Carrie) Mucha; daughter, Patricia (infant); husband, Constantine (George) (2001); sisters and brothers, Hazel(infant) Nick, Alex, Mary Sereda, Willie, Pauline Osborne, Lil Dyck, Lawrence, George, and Dennis; and son, Melvin Kokoski (2018). She is survived by: her children, Lorraine (D: Melvin) Kokoski, Delores (Tim) Hodge, Nestor (Christine) Kokoski, Kelly Kokoski (Rob) Blight, Kevin Kokoski (Quincy); grandchildren, Garrett Kokoski, Kyle Kokoski, Tracey (Blair) Torgerson, Carrie (Dominic) Cuthbertson, Angela (Gordon) Hoffman, Maureen Tubman & Ryan Hurlburt, Chantelle (Dwight) Wrubleski, Katlin Blight & Lauren Koropatnicki, Kara Kokoski, and Kristyn Kokoski; great grandchildren, Ryan & Craig Torgerson, Chester Cuthbertson, Wyatt Hoffman, Wagner Tubman, and Maddox & Blake Wrubleski; Sister-in-law, Nellie Hendriks; Brother-in-law, Mike Kokoski; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Elizabeth will be missed and never forgotten! The Funeral Liturgy was held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Foam Lake, with Rev. Father Basil Malowany as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Jane Karakochuk and the epistle read by Christine Kokoski. The interment took place in the Foam Lake Town Cemetery with Katlin Blight and Chantelle Wrubleski serving as the urn bearers.
