Doreen Ella VARCOE
<p style="text-align: justify;">It is with sadness the family of Doreen Ella Varcoe (née Stanley) announce her passing on July 8, 2020 at Rose Villa at the age of 93 years.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Doreen was born on September 8, 1926 in Kenton, MB. She grew up in Manitoba and moved to Vancouver in 1942 where she met and married Henry Rogoschensky. They had two daughters, Sharen, born in 1944 and Shirley born in 1948. They lived in Burnaby until Henry’s untimely passing in 1964 and in 1965, Doreen moved to Herschel, SK. Doreen married Ed Varcoe and they settled down in Stranraer where she remained until their separation in 1990. She spent the rest of her years in Rosetown, moving to Lion’s Manor and then to Rose Villa which was her home until her passing.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Doreen enjoyed knitting, decorating, crafts and reading books. She was friendly, helpful and kind to others, she will be missed by those who knew and loved her.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Doreen is survived by her daughter Sharen Burnham; grandchildren Sue Brewer, Kevin Owen, Kim McGhee and Dena McGhee-Campos; great-grandchildren Chris, Jason, Alana, Jessica, Katie, Nik, Breanna and Presley; three great-great-grandchildren London, Chloe and Aidan; brother Arnold (Gwen) Stanley and nephews Stephen, Terry and Bob Stanley. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, parents Charles and Gladys Stanley and daughter Shirley McGhee.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">A family memorial service will be held in BC.
