May 31, 1955 ~ July 9, 2020 (age 65)

On Thursday, July 9, 2020, God dispatched an angel from above to separate the soul of William M. Herron from an ailing body carrying him to a place of rest to await the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

He was born May 31, 1955 to the late Mr. Raymond and Mary V. Herron.

His graveside service was held on Saturday July 18, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Patrick Cemetery with Pastor David Lee Perry in charge and Dixie Funeral Home (www.dixiefuneralhome.com) was in charge of the professional service.

William’s basic education was obtained by receiving his G.E.D. from Whiteville Vocational Technology School. He was employed by the City of Bolivar (Sanitation/Street Dept.) for 29 years until he retired in 2014. He enjoyed listening to blues, working on different types of cars, watching old western movies, playing softball/baseball and spending time with family and friends. He was loving father, grand-father, brother, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He received Christ into his heart later in life.

Mr. Herron was preceded in death by his parents: sisters; Geneva Hudson and Burline Flowers: brother; James Morris.

William departed this earthly realm leaving behind many memories to be cherished by his children: Ms. Vonda Herron, Mrs. Mario (Kito) Scott, Mrs. Tammy (Michael) Jackson, Mr. Tyrone Arbuckle, and Ms. Tabitha Arbuckle: one sister; Ms. Dorothy Herron and friend (Henry): three brothers; Mr. Hayes (Vera) Herron, Mr. Raymond (Denise) Herron, and Mr. Leon Herron: one step-brother; Mr. Eugene Herron: twenty grandchildren; five great grandchildren: one uncle and aunt; Reverend Solomon Sain and Ms. Elverta Crowder: a special friend; Mr. David Higgs: a special nephew and niece; Mr. Raymond E. Herron and Ms. Valeta Herron, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
