Clarice Elda Bunt

Clarice Elda Bunt, 90 of Lisbon, North Dakota formerly of Gwinner, North Dakota passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at CHI Lisbon Health, Lisbon, North Dakota.

Clarice Ebert was born on September 8, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Albert and Vida (Hamel) Ebert. She was raised on a small farm near Osseo, Minnesota. After high school she attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis for one year. While on a visit to her cousin and lifelong friend, Mertis Hill of North Dakota she met the love of her life, Harley Bunt. They were married on July 31, 1948 and made their home on the Bunt family farm, where they were the third generation to raise livestock, crops and kids. In 1978, after losing their home to a fire they moved to Fargo and worked for a number of years before retiring to their lake home on Franklin Lake in Minnesota. After Harley’s passing in 1993, Clarice continued to live on Franklin Lake until moving to Gwinner in 2000 where she lived in an apartment near many old friends from the Stirum and Gwinner area. Clarice became known as “the sewing lady” in the community for her skill with a needle. In 2011, she moved to CHI Lisbon Health due to a long illness.

Clarice is survived by her children, Wayne Bunt of Lisbon, ND; Lorna (Gregg) Olsen of Fargo, ND; Allan (Julie) Bunt of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; seven grandchildren, Amber (Mitchell) Dow, Susan (Bret) Stone, Stewart Bunt, Grant (Kris) Tegtmeier, Erika (Neil Emin) Olsen, Andrew Bunt and Benjamin (Sara) Holberg; eight great grandchildren.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harley, daughter, Linda M. Tegtmeier, daughter-in-law, Arleen Bunt, step-brother, Leonard “Sonny” Bentson and an infant sister Ruth Ebert.
