Brenda Susan Green Obituary

Brenda Susan Green, 66 years old of Ashaway, RI, passed away suddenly at Westerly Hospital on Thursday, July 2, 2020. She was the loving wife of Alan Green and mother of two sons, Jason and Matthew. Born in Westerly on August 6,1953, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Betty (Tefft) Moore.

Brenda worked as a machine operator for Ashaway Line and Twine for 15 years before retiring in the year 2000. Brenda was a breast cancer surviver who spent most of her time with close family and friends. She loved to research and try new recipes, spending time with her grandchildren, taking care of her “babies” (house cats) and swinging outside with a cool breeze in the shade. Brenda enjoyed her occasional trips to Foxwoods casino with her sister, her most recent occupying activity was avid online shopping. She had a feisty temperament, but was always kind, loving, and selfless when supporting those closest to her heart. She had a fierce motherly presence with her two sons, looking over them even after they reached adulthood. Her most recent travels took her and Alan on a cross-country car trip to California and back for her eldest son’s wedding, uniting her family despite incredible odds and complications of health issues. Her true passion was to spend time cooking and dining with her family, especially over her grandmother’s spaghetti recipe nicknamed “Gramma’s Spaghetti.” Brenda also was “famous” in the family for making her mother’s meatball recipe, with her own twist, which was turned into a Christmas tradition over the years.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Alan Green, her son and his wife, Jason and Macey Green, Matthew and Jodi Green, her siblings Robert Moore, along with Michael and Nancy Moore, and sister Lynn Moore and her partner John Narducci. She is also survived by her three grandchildren whom she adored and loved, Emerald, Autumn, and Charles Green, as well as nieces and nephews who knew her as “Auntie Brenda.”

Due to the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, viewing hours will be held privately by immediate family.

Guest are invited to attend graveside services, which will be offered at Wood River Cemetery, 85 Nooseneck Hill Rd, Richmond, RI 02898, July 14th at 11:30am.
