NEW BEDFORD-Walter Pedro, 48, of So. Dartmouth, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 2, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the beloved son of Maria Estrela (Pereira) Pedro and the late Manuel Pedro. Walter was born in New Bedford and was employed as a painter. He enjoyed all sports especially basketball, playing cards, going to the beach and swimming. His family includes his mother; his daughter, Kara A. Pedro of Lakeville; 2 brothers, Moses Pedro of New Bedford and Manuel Pedro of Taunton; 2 sisters, Ana Tavares and her husband, Mario of New Bedford and Guida Pedro of Toronto, Canada; nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George Pedro. Visiting hours in the funeral home Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. His funeral will be conducted on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 8:00 A.M. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Rural Cemetery. Due to current restrictions, face coverings are required and the number of attendees is limited.
