Shirley A Garvan

Belchertown-Shirley A. (Duquette) Garvan, 83, passed away at her home with her husband by her side on July 2, 2020. Born June 12, 1937 in Graniteville, VT, she was the daughter of Aime and Rosanne (Bishop) Duquette. Growing up in Vermont, she then moved with her family to Palmer and met her husband at the age of 14. She was a telephone operator in Palmer and then went on to work at Package Machinery. After raising her daughter, Linda, she returned to work at Wing Hospital, where she worked in food service for 16 years. Shirley will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, John J. Garvan, Jr., along with their daughter, Linda Scott and her husband Jeffrey of Belchertown. She also leaves her only grandson, Glenn as well as a sister, Amy Macham of Monson and several nieces and nephews. Services will be privately held at Beers & Story Funeral Home.
