Richard D Reeves

RICHARD D. REEVES, age 79, of Piqua, passed away at 11:50 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Garbry Ridge, Piqua. He was born in Rahway, NJ on April 22, 1941 to the late Forrest and Esther (Kremp) Reeves. On March 17, 1962 in Piqua, OH, he married Barbara Hale. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2015. Richard is survived by two daughters and son-in-law: Jamie and Matthew Muetzel, Reynoldsburg, OH, and Jennifer Chalfant, Sidney, OH; one sister and brother-in-law: Wendy and Jim Bath, FL; one brother: Forrest Reeves, NV; four grandchildren: Kaitlin and Zachary Muetzel and Laurel and Colleen Chalfant. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Wayne Reeves and Alan Reeves. Richard graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1959. He then went to Hobart Welding School I Troy, OH. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Piqua. Richard was a carpenter for Hartzell Propeller in building maintenance for twenty years. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, OH, with Chaplin Ed Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends 3-5 PM on Friday, July 10, 2020 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.melcher-sowers.com.
