Rickie L. Musgrave, 71, Perryville, MO formerly of Oblong, IL passed away on Thursday July 2, 2020 at the Estates of Perryville, Perryville, MO. Rick was born January 23, 1949 in Robinson, IL and was the son of Charles Denver Musgrave and Dorothy Lucille (Baker) Musgrave. He served his country in the United States Army from 1969 till 1970 and continued in the Army Reserves until 1975. He was a graduate of Oblong High School Class of 1967 and a member Oblong First Christian Church, Oblong, IL. He was a laborer at Fair Rite, Flat Rock, IL and later was a farm hand on the family farm. In his youth he sold the Grit Newspaper and enjoyed writing poetry for most of his life. Rick is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Cory Lee and Aprille Musgrave, Palestine, IL; a grandson Carson Musgrave, Palestine, IL; two brothers and sister-in-law Rodney D. “Rod” Musgrave, Oblong, IL and Michael Shawn and Alicia Musgrave, Decatur, IL; two sisters and brothers-in-law Pamalee and Stan Batman, Oblong, IL and Debra Rae and Bob Dowdy, Pontiac, IL and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Denver and Dorothy Musgrave; and grandparents George and Maudie Musgrave and Willis and Becky Baker. It was Rick’s choice to be cremated and no visitation. There will be a private family service at a later date. Burial will be by his parents in Oblong Cemetery.
