Services for Elneda Steen Manion age 96 of Sullivan will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. The family will received friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan. Mrs. Manion passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Presbyterian Manor in Rolla, Missouri. Elneda was born on February 24, 1920 in Sullivan, Missouri to Leslie and Ruth (Dorson) Cain. She attended and graduated from Sullivan High school. Elneda’s mother passed away at an early age and her grandmother Cain and Aunt Jane Cain raised her. On January 5, 1943 Elneda was united in marriage to Charles Steen in Union, Missouri and three children were born to their marriage; Charles “Nick”, Bob and Sue. Elneda was employed by the shoe factory until it closed and then she worked for Dr. Robert Crawford as his receptionist until she retired. Later in life, Elneda married Jim Manion who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Manion was a member of the Sullivan Chapter of Eastern Star #105 and Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan where she was the oldest surviving female member. Elneda was a kind and loving person and will be missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Manion is survived by children; Sue (Bob) Lewis of St. James, Charles (Teri) Steen of Lantana, Florida and Robert (Vicki) Steen of Keller, Texas, 8 grandchildren; Christina Steen, Katherine Williamson, Troy Steen, Christopher Steen, Todd Steen and wife Leighanne, Tricia Steen, Kelly Miller and husband Donnie and Brittany Earl and companion Brad, 10 great-grandchildren; Tina, Charlie, Gracie, Kayden, Dylan, Joey, Riley, Emma, Lily and Briley; two step-granddaughters; Samanatha Pearson and husband, Brian and family and Tabby Lewis; one sister; Peggy Pritchett of Malden, Missouri, the extended Manion family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mrs. Manion was preceded in death by her parents; Leslie and Ruth Dorson Cain; husbands; Charles E. Steen and James Manion; five siblings; Gilbert, Wilbert and Merle Cain, Frances Weber and Naomi Briscoe; and one granddaughter; Laura Steen.
