Peggy Davis Obituary

Peggy Kellett Davis, age 69, entered into rest on Sunday, July 5, 2020 in Del Rio, Texas. She was born in Uvalde, Texas on December 26, 1950, the daughter of William and Mary Ellen Kellett. The family moved to Del Rio when Peggy was still in elementary school, and she called Del Rio home ever after. Peggy graduated from Del Rio High School in 1969, having excelled in academics as well as extracurricular activities. She was president of the student council, and she was elected band sweetheart her senior year. After high school she continued her education and earned her nursing degree. As a dedicated and empathetic nurse, Peggy cared for Del Rioans at the hospital, nursing homes, public schools, and through Friends of Hospice. In recent years, multiple sclerosis had limited Peggy’s activities, but she still served on the board of the Whitehead Memorial Museum and greatly enjoyed attending events held there whenever she could. With her outgoing personality and infectious laugh, Peggy had a multitude of friends. She was heartened to spend her last weeks at home, where so many of her friends visited or phoned and shared memories, love, support, and laughter. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Warner Davis. She is survived by her son Jason Moran, grandson William Moran, brother William Kellett, Jr., niece Kim Kellett, nephew Brian Kellett, and aunt Dorothy Parks. At Peggy’s request, no services are planned at this time. Please consider sending a memorial to VVRMC Friends of Hospice, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the American Cancer Society. And, please, share some laughter in Peggy’s memory!
