Mr. Julius James Daniel, 80, died Friday evening (April 15, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health Systems of Waycross after an extended illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County. He graduated from Manor High School. In June of 1997, he retired from GATX as a General Foreman after 40 years of service. A member of Victory Methodist Church, Mr. Daniel was a loving husband, father and "Papa".
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Becky Crews Daniel; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leland and Marguerite Griffin Booth.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Belva Booth Daniel of Manor; two sons, Wade Daniel (Karla) of Homerville, and Gary Daniel (Darlene) of Manor; four grandchildren, Ryan Daniel (Tina) of Homerville, Garrett Daniel (Rachel) of Manor, Chase Daniel (Brooklyn) of Homerville, and Drew Daniel; seven great grandchildren, Gage Daniel of Hahira, Hannah Pittman of Manor, Luke Daniel of Manor, Grayson Daniel, Braelyn Daniel, Cathryn Daniel and Nora Daniel all of Homerville.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (April 19, 2016) at Victory Methodist Church in Manor. Burial will follow in Victory Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the church.
