HAZEL (SALYER) HEATH, 63, of Xenia, passed away in the home she loved on Thursday afternoon, July 21, 2016. She was born in Champaign County on December 10, 1952, the daughter of the late Normal and Hazel (Rigsby) Salyer. Hazel volunteered with the Greene County Humane Society for 21 years. She was a devoted animal rights activist, loved Halloween to the point of keeping up her decorations year-round, and her greatest love was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jeffrey D. Heath; daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Rogers of Xenia; son, Jeffrey (Kristi) Heath II of Toledo; five grandchildren, Billy Rogers, Brandon (Tiffani) Rogers, Austin Rogers, Jeffrey Heath III, and Noah Heath; and great granddaughter, Kaelynn Rogers. Also surviving are three sisters, Janet (Dale) Longworth, Mary Douglas and Dorothy Moore; two brothers, Roger (Naomi) Salyer and Donald (Diane) Salyer; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Danny and Brenda Stewart, Suresh and Talika Sheath and Kristi Adkins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Wilmeth and four brothers, Normal Salyer Jr., Buster Salyer, Raymond Salyer, and Jimmy Salyer. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Hazel's funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Eric Woodworth of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Humane Society, 187 Bellbrook Ave., Xenia, OH 45385.
