Hilda M. Carpenter

Hilda M. Carpenter, 91, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Clark Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Care in Clarksville, Indiana. She was born on February 25, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Richard and Beulah (Moore) Adamson. Hilda worked as a private home health care aide, a babysitter, raised several children in addition to her own and loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gary Carpenter and a daughter, Debora Dean Carpenter. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda K. (Ralph) Parson of Scottsburg, Indiana; a son, William Ronald "Willie" (Sharon) Carpenter of Brooks, Kentucky; half sister, Shirley (John) Mitchell of Madisonville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Shannon Rone, Michelle Bickelman, Whitney, Alex and Connor Carpenter, Lisa Parson and Tara Lambert; four great grandchildren, Layne Marr, Victoria, Bailey, Abigail Rone and one great grandson on the way; and two great great grandchildren, Silas Marr and Avery Hall. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor David Carroll officiating. Services may be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Visitation: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC’s recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face coverings are encouraged.
