Woody Woodson

James 'Woody' Woodson, 82, of Berea, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Baptist Health Lexington. He was a Red Lick, Kentucky native born December 25, 1934, son of the late George Washington Woodson and Bessie Pursefull Woodson, a retired bricklayer, and resident of Berea for the past 17 years. He was a member of Labor Local #809 (Steubenville, Ohio) for many years, and of the Southern Baptist faith. Survivors include 3 children, David Woodson (Nancy), Janet Elliott (Fred) and Kathy Arensa (Ed) ; 5 siblings, Floyd Woodson, Minnie Faye Crawford, Marie Gay, Dorothy Eversole, and Lucy Edna Morgan; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mayfra Satterfield Woodson, 5 siblings, Doug, John, George, Mary and Ella Mae. A Memorial Service will conducted at a later date. In accordance with Woody's wishes, he was cremated and no public service is scheduled at this time.
