Celebration of life for Mr. Henry Jones, Sr. will be Friday, Marcy 24, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Greater ACOP (113 Nunnally Avenue - Gadsden, AL) with Bishop Jewel Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Hill Cemetery. VISITATION: Wednesday March 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home (2501 (Carmichael Avenue NW - Huntsville, AL 35816 - www.nelmsmemorial.net) Thursday March 23, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Adams-Buggs Funeral Service (401 N. 9th Street - Gadsden, AL 35901 - http://www.adams-buggs.com/) A beacon of light entered into the world on July 12, 1920 in Etowah County, Alabama when Cleveland and Emma Jones gave birth to a handsome baby boy they named Henry. During this era in time it wasnt very common to have a very extensive education. The vast majority of the ones educated was learned at home and through early work experience. Henry worked from a very young age and for the greater part of his life and was endowed with much wisdom and knowledge. He was a hard worker and worked for many years at the Pipe Shop, Gulf State Steel and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant. Henry settled down when he met and married the love of his life Lois Thomas. This union was blessed with ten children. He enjoyed his family and educating them in the word of God at Lula Street ACOP, where he was a life-long member. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, carpentry, fixing up cars and visiting neighbors - often driving them around to run their errands. Henry traded mortal for immortality on Saturday, March 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
