PAMELA YVONNE RICE MOBLEY entered this world on July 8, 1962 in Greensboro, North Carolina and departed for her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. She was the 7th child born to the late George Jackson Rice and Ethel Greene Rice. She was the "jewel" of the Rice family. She was a tender-hearted child who grew to be a sweet spirit that everyone loved. Pam was always very athletic. While in junior high and high school, she played basketball, softball and volleyball. In 1980, she graduated from Grimsley High School and matriculated at North Carolina Central University on an athletic scholarship. She later transferred to North Carolina A&T State University where her love for softball continued. After moving to Florence, SC, she attended Florence-Darlington Technical College where she earned a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. On December 25, 1985, she married her best friend and the love of her life, William "Billy" Mobley. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Terrin and Kristin. Her love for sports blossomed in her children through gymnastics. And once again, her love for sports was reignited at Florence Gymnastics where she coached gymnastics for23 years. Pam leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 31 years, William "Billy" Mobley of the home, two daughters, Terrin Mobley and husband Dominic and Kristin Mobley, all of Columbia, SC; her mother, Ethel Greene Rice of Archdale, NC; four sisters, Mildred (Reginald) Womble of Asheboro, NC, Evelyn (Larry) Sims of Pittsburgh, PA, Georgia (Richard) Morehead of Greensboro, NC, and Teresa (Fergus) Forbes of Elmira, NY; two brothers, Michael Rice of Archdale, NC and George M. (Virginia) Rice of Myrtle Beach, SC; three special friends, Mrs. Louise Peck, Mrs. Vicki Walker and Mrs. Susie Vahala; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
