Bonnie Christine Prettyman Obituary

A memorial service will be held at a later date for Mrs. Bonnie Prettyman. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Prettyman, 84, of Newton, passed away Thursday at her residence. She was retired as a licensed vocational nurse and enjoyed many hobbies in her spare time. Some of those include sewing and quilting, in which she made the small quilts that residents at local nursing homes would enjoy. She loved just about anything that was arts and crafts and was a member of the Better Hands Quilting Club.  Mrs. Prettyman enjoyed cooking and her family particularly enjoyed her homemade desserts. She also served as chaplain for the American Legion Post 89.

She is survived by her children Dianne Allen, Cynthia Smith, Allen Prettyman and Thomas Prettyman along with ten grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Charles Shaw, Billy Ray Shaw, Betty Faye Stapleton, Emma Jordan, Linda Shaw and John Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Douglas and Maudie Mae Shaw.

Friends may sign the online register at www.barhamfuneralhome.com.
