Ariel Elaine LaBaw Obituary

In memory of Ariel E. LaBaw who passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2020 in Bellevue Washington. Ariel was very athletic and competitive and enjoyed softball, basketball, and soccer throughout her years in school. She attended Margaret Mead Elementary, Eastside Christian Middle School, Bear Creek High School and graduated from Sammamish High School in Bellevue, Washington. She received an undergraduate degree at Bellevue College and was pursuing a degree in Public Health at Central Washington University. Over the years, Ariel worked and volunteered at the Austin Foundation in Seattle, whose mission it is to transform lives of young people. She also coached a middle school girls basketball team for Jubilee Reach, whose mission it is transform the lives of students and their families in Bellevue. In addition, she worked while going to school in cosmetic sales and as a dental hygiene assistant. Ariel was inquisitive with an unquenchable desire to understand. During her school years she was consistently noted for riddling teachers with questions, a skill she refined as an adult. She could be spot on serious one moment and funny and goofy the next. Her observant, kind, sensitive and quiet reserve made Ariel extraordinarily loyal and supportive to family and friends. She set the bar high for herself and was determined in achieving her goals. She loved music, dancing, traveling and family gatherings. She preferred dining out to dining in but loved sitting down for meals with family. Ariel loved watching and discussing movies. Ariel loved Jesus as her Lord and Savior and attended several churches in the area during her lifetime. Ariel is survived by her mother, Angela Brown LaBaw, her father and stepmother, Michael and Cheryl LaBaw; her brothers Ali Muhammad, Brandon Brown, Jason LaBaw and Nicolas LaBaw; her sisters Angela LaBaw and Crystal Brown; her grandmothers Patricia LaBaw, Jeanine LaBaw, Evelyn Carrillo and Alice McKinney and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A small family graveside memorial service will be held June 30, 2020 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, Washington followed by a celebration of her life sometime in the future. In lieu of flowers, please be kind, loving, supportive and compassionate to others; those were hallmarks of Ariels life and the way she would want it to be. Ariel you are always and forever in our hearts!
