David Arden Peickert, of Florence, passed away on June 23, 2020 with his family by his side. David was born on January 10, 1934 in Browns Valley, to Robert and Violet Peickert. David graduated from BVHS in 1952 and was drafted into the US Army in 1956 until 1958 - he was stationed in Orleans, France. He received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and Bachelor of Architecture from North Dakota State University in 1993. He worked as a civil engineer at the United States Air Force Base in Grand Forks, ND until he retired. David married Colleen Elsen in November 1973 and has been a devoted husband to her for the last 46 years. Together they had one daughter, Heidi Peickert, who can be described as a “Daddy’s Girl”. David loved restoring old pictures and getting them online, his office was full of old photos of family and friends. David could fix and build anything and he loved watching old movies. David enjoyed road trips that included visits to different historical landmarks. Left to cherish David’s memory is his wife, Colleen Peickert and his daughter, Heidi Peickert. David is preceded in death by his 4 older siblings, Garris, Orval, Garmen, and Audrey. Heritage Coolidge Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. A graveside service will be held in Brown’s Valley, Minnesota will be announced at a later date.
