Funeral services for Mr. Timmy Derrell Truitt will be held Saturday at 1pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lauderdale. Rev. Gerry Parker will be officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military honors.  Barham Funeral Home, Forest Lawn Chapel is honored to be assisting with the arrangements.

Mr. Truitt, 48, of Meridian passed away at his residence on Friday, October 4th.  He was a retired from the military, having served his country in the U.S. Army for twenty-four years. During that time, he served many deployments overseas.  Mr. Truitt was employed by Raytheon Corporation as a Information System Technician. Family and friends will always remember his love for the “sweetheart” of his life, wife Kristy, and also the love he had for children. He loved people and never met a stranger. Mr. Truitt loved and valued his relationship with his family especially his mother whom he loved deeply.

He is survived by his wife Kristy; mother Alberta Truitt; brothers Bobby Truitt (Doretha), Ernest Truitt (Kerri) and sisters Debra Truitt, Mary Truitt Smith (DeWayne) and Rolanda Truitt. Mr. Truitt is also survived by a special military brother David Hickman.

He was preceded in death by his father John Young and sister Sharon Dekay.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm at the church.
