Doris Murden Powers
Doris Murden Powers, died on April 15, 2016, at home with her family beside her. Born in Princess Anne County on March 21, 1926, to Kater and Ruby Murden (deceased), she was predeceased by a sister, Elva Beddingfield; and brothers, Winston, Alton, Forest and Philip Murden. She leaves behind her husband, Paul I. Powers, Jr.; son, Jeff Carroll; daughter, Janet Moushegian (Carl); granddaughters, Sarah and Cristen Moushegian; step-daughter, Lynn Miller (Peyton); step-granddaughter, Heather Bateen (Ian); step-grandson, Shawn Miller; sister, Jo Anne Toler (Ed); sister-in-law, Gerri Murden and many nieces and nephews. She was baptized at Charity United Methodist Church, was a charter member of St. John United Methodist Church, and was a member of Community United Methodist Church. She retired from TCC College, Virginia Beach Campus. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jennifer Mizel and the hospice group. Viewing will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Charity Neck Rd.
