Dorothy Welcher Obituary

May 18, 1944 – June 22, 2020 With precious and loving memories to hold on to, we, the family of Dorothy Welcher (Pearce) are deeply saddened to announce her passing. Dorothy passed away peacefully at Golden Heights Manor on June 22, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Dorothy loved to have the company of her family and friends. She enjoyed telling old stories, old sayings, and jokes, cooking for many and she especially enjoyed a game of 120’s with her card partner Donald Byrne. She was well known for her kindness and generosity and always had an extra meal for anyone who dropped by. Dorothy was courageous and showed tremendous strength in her final days. She has found comfort with our Lord and is surely settling in nicely into her new home in Heaven. Left with broken hearts are her 9 children, Todd (Davianna), Jerome (Tina), Ron (Linda), Ed (Donna), Claude, Rose (Bill), Sterling (Kayla), Nev & Glenys. Her 11 grandchildren, Madelyn, Owen, Jennifer, Jerry, Tanisha, Samantha, Randell, Rodney, Zackery, Nicholas, Victoria, and her grandchild not by blood, but by heart, Kristi; as well as her great-grandchildren Chase and Lily. Sharing in sorrow are her siblings Anthony (Triffie), Angela, and Willy; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also her home care worker Delores and her special friend who always made her laugh, Jay. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Claude Welcher, son Jason Welcher, her Parents Isreal and Rose Pearce, Brothers Dan and Gerald, and Sisters Irene, Margaret Jane, and Mary. Our sadness is their happiness as they will once again be reunited. Big thank you to the special nurses and care workers at Golden Heights Manor. Your empathy, kindness and compassion will forever be remembered. A small service for family and friends to be held at the Roman Catholic cemetery in King’s Cove at 2:00 pm on June 25, 2020. A celebration of life for anybody who would like to pay their respects will take place at Rosie’s home in Keels following the service.
