Sandra D. Stevenson,” Sam” (69) peacefully slipped into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 6, 2020, at Saint Barnabas Hospital; of complications from C.O.P.D. Sandra was born in Bainbridge Georgia on December 20, 1950. At the time of her passing, she was a resident of Orange NJ. Sandra was an amazing mother, friend, and person to all she touched. She was the life of the party. She enjoyed entertaining, dancing, and playing cards. She would often cook and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays at her house. She liked shopping and going to the Sands in Bethlehem PA her most recent favorite and she often came home a winner. She didn’t miss Judge Judy, the Bold and the Beautiful and her cowboy movies. She retired as Director of Transportation from the Essex Count Educational Services Commission in Fairfield NJ where she worked for 15 years and before that she worked at RFE Industries a gold refinery for 16 years, as Supervisor of shipment of bullion and precious metals. She worked at Sherwin Williams Paints, where she was the first and only woman to drive a forklift in New Jersey. Sandra is predeceased by her son, Jemar Jordan, her mother Mary Haynes, her grandmother Mary Lena Bell. She is survived by her ex-husband James Jordan, son Christopher Jordan, her daughters Elizabeth Marsh and Ariella Spriggs, her loving and devoted partner Charlie Horton, her sister Natalia Petersen, her brother Michael Quattlebaum, her grandchildren Brielle Alston, Janae Jordan, Kiara Jordan and Jemar Jordan Jr. her nephew Michael Petersen and a host of family and friends.
