Cassie Mosley Obituary

Cassie Mosley, 75 of Hyden, Kentucky departed this walk of life on Friday, June 19, 2020.  Cassie was born April 15, 1945 in Bell County to the union of Bill Bowling and the late Goldie Barrett Hensley.   She grew up in Hyden, Kentucky and married the love of her life, James Mosley.  She went to work at the "old hospital" Mary Breckinridge Hospital on Hospital Hill where she worked as a nurses aid.  She later went to work at the "Big House" in Wendover where she became the head cook for Frontier Nursing Service.  She worked in that position until her retirement. 

Cassie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending different churches and gatherings.  She always attended all cemetery meeting that she could possibly attend.  She enjoyed the fellowship with  the family and friends attending as well as the food.

Cassie liked to stay in tune with the things going on in the world and faithfully watched the news.  She also kept in check with all local obituaries and enjoyed a good phone conversation.  She was an avid gardener and always canned the food she had raised.  Above all, Cassie loved her family and friends and enjoyed time with them. 

In addition to her mother, Cassie was preceded in death by, one brother, Otis Harley Hensley, a sister, Jessie Hensley Collett and very special friend, Woodard Shepherd.

Cassie leaves behind, her beloved father, Bill Bowling, her beloved daughters, Stella Marcella Howard and Roxanne Mosley, both of Hyden, Kentucky.  Other survivors include, two brothers, Tim Bowling of Western Kentucky and Jim Cupp of Ohio, five sisters, Yvonne Bullard, Cleda Pennington, Mildred Roark, all of London, KY, Irene Hensley Logansport, IN and Francis Callahan of Stinnett, KY.  Along with five cherished grandchilren, James Howard, Jonathon Howard, Whitney Howard, Paula Sizemore, and Robert Dalton Callahan, seven cherished great-grandchildren, Halley, Fallyn, Hagan, Raleigh, Keena, Landon and Devan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. - Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the Lower Middle Fork Pentecostal Church of God at Asher, Kentucky with Eugene "Friday" Roberts officiating.  Interment will be in the Mosley Cemetery at Hyden, Kentucky. The Mosley family will receive family and friends for visitation after 6 p.m. - Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the church.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
