Lorraine D. Clancy, 82, formerly of Floral Park, NY and Cortland passed away June 18, 2020 at Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, NY.

Born August 19, 1937 in Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Doris White Harrington.

Lorraine grew up in the Syracuse area and graduated from Houghton College and SUNY Cortland with a Masters Degree in Public Education. She married Thomas J. Clancy on July 27, 1963 at the North Syracuse Baptist Church.

They moved to Floral Park, NY where she taught elementary school at the Franklin Square Union Free School District. She was a devoted wife and mother and also taught Sunday School. Lorraine loved the outdoors and was an avid bird watcher.

In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her sons, Thomas Jr. of Springfield, VA and Steven of Syracuse; two grandchildren, a brother, Robert Harrington of Syracuse, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by a brother, Gary Harrington.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Redeemer, 125 Tompkins St., Cortland as well as streaming on the church’s Facebook page. Interment will follow in Groton Rural Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday, June 21st, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton.
