Dorothy Gracie Louise Schoefield "Mick" was born on December 26, 1939 to the late Rufus and Pearl Ivory Elliott in Walterboro, South Carolina. She departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in Walterboro, South Carolina.  Graveside Service Celebrating the Life of Dorothy Gracie Louise Schoefield will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Memorial Garden at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Wayne G. Carter, Eulogist.  A public viewing will be held Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Stephens-Maree-Tracy Funeral Home Chapel of Serenity from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 

Dorothy attended and completed her education in the Colleton County School District. She loved cooking both professionally and for her family. She worked for many years as a cook at Pinecrest Restaurant and other various restaurants and food establishments. She was a woman of great faith and life-long member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Dorothy was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie James Schoefield. They were blessed with one daughter, Linda.

She enjoyed having a good time and spending time with her family. She was affectionately known as "Mama" to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others who knew and loved her. She was known to have a witty sense of humor and loved to smile.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Schoefield; brothers, Robert Lee Elliott, and Ulysees Elliott; sisters, Queen Ester Cleveland and Pearlie Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter, Linda Crosby; granddaughters, Krystal and Brandi Crosby; grandson, Julian Crosby; great-granddaughter, Auburn Wideman; great-grandsons, Keenan Wideman and Brennan Mack; one brother, Marvin Elliott (Shirley), one brother-in-law, Eddie Johnson; one sister-in-law, Rose Elliott and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
