Dorothy Elizabeth Taylor, 85, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Hilton Head Regional Hospital, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 28, 1930 to the late William Howard Gray and Amy Elizabeth Edwards Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold A. Taylor, their only child, Paula Sue Taylor Carson, and her brother William Gary Gray. She is survived by her son-in-law, William A. Carson, III, his wife Marian, her only grandchild, Patrick William Carson, sisters-in-law Nancy Pauline Hicks Gray and Ellen Holt Taylor. Also surviving are many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces. Before retiring to Hilton Head Island with her husband, Dorothy lived and was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. There she was educated, married Harold A. Taylor and worked in various occupations while her husband, after graduation from college, served in Germany for the United States Army. After moving to Hilton Head Island, she was involved in their church, St. Andrew by-the Sea United Methodist and many community endeavors. She was a 50 year life member of The Order of the Eastern Star. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Andrew by-the-Sea United Methodist Church, 20 Pope Avenue, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.
