Sybil E. Crumbley Powell

Powell, Sybil Crumbley, of Gainesville, FL, formerly of Winfield and Dothan, AL, went in peace to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2020, aged 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. J. ‘Tommy’ Powell, and her grandson, Benjamin Powell. She was so proud of her family, and will be missed and remembered with grateful love by her children, Diane (Don) Mauldin, Leigh (Dr. Richard) Vining, and Dr. Jeff (Julie) Powell; her grandchildren, Dr. Melissa and Andrew (Amber) Mauldin, David (Alicia) and Rebecca Vining, James (Sarah), Grace, Caleb, Faith, Silas, Hope, and Isaac Powell; and her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Kate, Lucy, and Thomas Vining, and Brady Mauldin. She is also mourned by her sister, Virginia (James) Criswell, of Prattville, AL. Sybil Powell loved the Lord and taught her children the wisdom in showing His love to all people. Her children will always remember her patience, gentleness and sense of humor. They will also remember that she was always sewing, quilting, or knitting something, and they treasure the blankets, quilts, dolls, and other memories she created for them. Her funeral service will be held Friday June 12, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial at Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
